Here you have it: 8 reasons to come to Norway.

Everything is cool made a list of 8 reasons to visit Norway.
We like reason # 2 the most: The Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis!
Reason # 3 sounds more like Sweden. Boys who look like girls: Yes that sounds more like Stockholm than Tromsø.  Anyways, we let you judge for yourself when you are here.

Première workshop cette saisoin! We had our first workshop on Saturday; what a start!

As soon as we got out of the door of the studio where we had a theory session, there was a huge Aurora going on. We just put up the cameras in the garden and got a few shots right there before we headed out to Kvaloya. The show lasted all night with a small break just so we could have some of that lovely fish soup Silvia had made for us. On Rekvikeidet we found what was left of Guide Gunnar's bonfire to warm our hands a little. Thank you Gunnar.

Thank you Aurora for a wonderful night.

Merci Gunnar.

Merci Aurora pour cette nuit merveilleuse.

autumn aurora dancing the night away

We were just about to go to sleep when Silvia looked out the window and saw an amazing Aurora dancing the night away. We got dressed and hurried outside to participate in the dance. There in our garden we saw what hopefully is a sign of what to come this season.

New time lapse video from Ole C. Salomonsen

Check out this new time lapse from Ole C. Salomonsen
I'm a big fan of his work. He is probably the best Aurora Borealis photographer in Tromso and the world. His images are amazing. I've watched this video again and again. I'm already looking forward to the winter. There will be lots and lots of northern lights in 2013. At Creative Vacations we're now doing research on new places to take photos.

Good bye and thanks for all the Aurora

It has been an amazing winter. I've seen more northern lights than ever before, and I've taken more people out to see the northern lights than ever before. This week I've been buried in papers. The tax report has been long over due, but finally, yesterday it was done. As to celebrate finishing my tax papers and finishing the Northern Lights season she came out yesterday to greet us. It was just Silvia and me, we didn't have any workshop, so we enjoyed a private show in our garden.

A BIG THANKS to all our clients who has come with us. I hope you have a wonderful spring and that you tell all your friends about the fantastic Aurora that we have here in Tromso.
If you have taken a tour with us, and you liked it, please tell the good people at TripAdvisor:

Jon Culshaw rates Tromsø and the northern lights as his best vacation.
On question from The Telegraph on Which was his best holiday, he answers: "I went to see the Northern Lights last year in Tromsø and it was spectacular."

Red Aurora

Donna and Susham decided to go on a second tour with us. On the first tour we went out to the coast and found  mountains, fjords, ocean and Aurora. The second tour the western wind had brought clouds to the coast so we went inland. there we found the red Aurora.

We had the pleasure of having a group of french photographer with us on the beach the other day. They had promised themselves that if they saw Aurora they would open a bottle of the good stuff for her.

A fantastic end to 2011 and a fabulous start on 2012

The Aurora activity is very high these days. A big hug to everyone who came with me to spend new years on a beach on Kvaløya while watching the fireworks and the Aurora play along.
These photos are from new years eve and the nights before and after.
